About

“The moment happens once. Your audience is watching now.”

I photograph sailing, sport and live events – and deliver the first press-ready pictures while your event is still happening. Your top ten images typically reach your team 15 minutes after the finish.

I grew up on Lake Constance, between racing sails and the Alps. Today I work wherever sport is fast and light is fleeting: on chase boats, at the finish line, in the paddock. My job is not just to catch the moment – it’s to get it to the people who need it, while it still matters.

Behind the scenes

This is what happens between the decisive moment and the first headline – on a typical race day, on the water.

  • 15:02 The momentThe leading boat rounds the last mark, spray in the late sun. I’m on the chase boat, burst mode, one chance.
  • 15:03 Camera to cloudMy picks transfer straight from the camera over 5G to my mobile workstation, while I keep shooting the finish.
  • 15:08 Express editSelection, colour, crop for press and social formats, captions, names and IPTC credits – done on board, in minutes, not days.
  • 15:15 Live with your teamThe press-ready package is in your press portal or shared folder: high-res for media, cropped versions for social. The race is still trending.
  • 15:16 Your first post goes live. Everyone is still talking about the race.

Times from a typical regatta day. Delivery speed depends on mobile coverage – we check it together before the event.

Tech & reliability

Built for salt water, dead zones and deadlines

  • Redundant recording – Every frame is written to two cards at once. Nothing gets lost to a single failure.
  • Connected on the water – Independent mobile connections with a power supply that lasts the whole race day.
  • Field workstation – Editing, captioning and export happen on site, not back at the office.
  • Press-ready metadata – Captions, names, credits and usage notes embedded (IPTC), ready for editorial systems.
  • Your channel, your formats – Press portal, shared drive or a private client gallery with a secret link. Landscape, square and story crops on request.
  • Proven in rough conditions – Workflows tested on open water, in rain and on long race days.

How I work

Not a gallery three days later. A partner on the day.

Most event photos arrive when the conversation has moved on. By then the hashtag has cooled, the press release went out with a placeholder image, and your sponsors posted their own phone pictures.

I work the other way round. Before the start, we agree on what your team needs – press shots, social formats, sponsor visibility, athlete portraits. During the event I shoot, select and edit in parallel. When the winner crosses the line, the pictures are already on their way to your press office.

For media, PR teams and organisers this means one less thing to chase – and images that land while attention is at its peak.
